Launch week: faster and shareable

← Back to FlightSide

The week after launch mostly went into fixing things that were slightly off, especially on phones.

Loading is faster, and the form stays responsive while you switch airports or adjust times. The seat recommendation is a bit easier to read as well, with a clearer layout and a short note explaining how to interpret the result.

The layout was also adjusted for phones and tablets, so the map, controls, and inputs are easier to reach.

Shareable flight links

Now each route has its own URL. Change any part of the flight and the address updates to match, so you can copy it, save it, or send it and keep the exact route.

There's also a share button that copies a short summary with the link.

Useful when you're figuring out seats with someone over text.

Choosing a side

The recommendation tells you which side is more likely to be sunny, but the right choice depends on what you want. Shade tends to work better if you're trying to sleep or avoid glare on a screen. Sun is better if you want the view, or if you're flying around sunrise or sunset and want to watch it happen.

There's no single right answer. The percentage just shows how much of the flight that side faces the sun. A result showing 70% sun on the left means that side is in direct sunlight for about 70% of the trip, not that the result is 70% "confident."

Some routes don't have a clear winner. North–south flights, midday departures, and shorter hops often end up close to 50/50. When it's that even, an aisle seat is usually more comfortable than either window.

Pick a route and try the share button. The summary copies cleanly into a message, which makes it easier to figure out seats with someone else before booking.
